10 Years Since UNESCO World Heritage Recognition

In 2015, the Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars were officially recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an acknowledgment of their exceptional universal value. These sites were recognized as the birthplace, workshop, and commercial home of Champagne, which has become the model for sparkling wines and a universal symbol of celebration. Ten years later, this anniversary underscores the importance of preserving a legacy that combines nature and human expertise. In 2025, this tribute to heritage offers an opportunity to rediscover the cultural and historical richness of these magnificent landscapes. 100 Years of the Avenue de Champagne

The Avenue de Champagne, located in Épernay, the capital of Champagne, is much more than just a street; it is a symbol of Champagne savoir-faire. Its centennial represents a unique opportunity to honor its history, heritage, and international influence. For a century, the Avenue de Champagne has hosted Champagne houses and winegrowers, who store nearly 200 million bottles in the 110 kilometers of cellars beneath the avenue and its surrounding streets. These Champagne makers are housed in 18th and 19th-century mansions, bearing witness to the evolution of Champagne commerce and craftsmanship. In 2025, this iconic avenue will be the setting for memorable festivities and events such as the White Night on July 14th and the 25th anniversary of the Habits de Lumière.
